This is devastating. Because it means The Transformers won’t be on Blu-Ray unless somebody changes their mind…Or I can convince my roommate to get an 360 elite =)

Hopefully someone will realize that Blu-Ray is still currently outselling HD-DVD at a rate of almost 2:1. Although the release of Transformers will clearly makes a dent in that stat but the move by Paramount and Dreamworks definitely helps to prolong the format war. Home Media Magazine brought out a good point that because of the backward compatibility, it will allow people with Blu-Ray players to still watch regular DVDs that are from HD-DVD exclusives and vice versa. So the battle continues…while all I want is to watch my Autobots in Blue-Ray…

Damn.
